It is here that Shah Rukh Kahn and Kajol filmed the music video “Gerua” from “Dilwale”, and you will visit more of these key locations tomorrow. You will get the chance to be very close, as you take a boat trip that zips between the icebergs.

Your last stop today will be the Diamond Beach, where the icebergs that float out to the ocean are broken down and scattered across the black sand beach, glittering, and sparkling in the sun. Today, you will head back to Reykjavík, but there is plenty to see along the way. You will first stop at Reynisfjara, an incredible and dramatic location that shows off the true power of the Atlantic Ocean. The beach itself is lava that has been broken down by the sea’s power into super fine, black sand. This was another key filming location for “Gerua”, thanks to its incredible and unique black sands and basalt columns.

You will head further west, and you can then take a fun bus ride along the black sand beach to the famous DC-3 plane wreck. A US military aircraft crash-landed in the 1970‘s, and it has become something of a landmark on Iceland’s South Coast. “Gerua” was also filmed here, as Kajol stood on top of the plane wreck with her colorful dress flowing behind her, as she was joined by her love, creating an incredibly romantic image.

Before you arrive back in Reykjavík, you will visit the waterfalls of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Skógafoss is a beautiful canyon waterfall, where the birds circle above your head. Not surprisingly, another key filming location for “Gerua.” Also used in the movie was Seljalandsfoss, a unique waterfall where you can enter the cave that goes behind the waterfall. You will then arrive back to Reykjavík, where your chef will prepare a meal for you.
