In 12 days, you will get the chance to fully immerse yourself in an Icelandic adventure whilst simultaneously treating your mind, body, and soul to wonderful spa and relaxation experiences. You’ll dip your toes in Iceland’s geothermal waters of the Secret Lagoon in the South and Vök Baths in the North – both notorious for their unique health benefits and soothing effects. Diversify your taste buds by trying local delicacies whilst discovering untamed land with your newly found friends.

 

As this is a fully guided tour, you really don’t have to do anything except buy that plane ticket to Iceland! We’ve taken care of everything in between, and our friendly guide will be with you every step of the way to make sure things run smoothly up until the very end. The first day of this trip is planned around your arrival at Keflavík International airport. Pre-arranged transport will be waiting for you outside the door of the airport regardless of when you land, so you dont have to worry about absolutely anythingFrom here, you can opt to get dropped off directly at the Blue Lagoon or continue straight towards Reykjavík.

 

This day is all about settling in, so make sure to take it easy! Spend the evening discovering Reykjavík’s lively charm and stroll through its vividly painted streets. Celebrate your first night in Iceland by joining the casual meetup and get to know your travel companions before the upcoming adventures.

This day is fully dedicated to the buzzing capital of Iceland: Reykjavík. You can choose to explore the city with a guided tour, embark on an adventure on the Atlantic Ocean in search of whales, or take a virtual flight over Iceland's most amazing nature. If you want to challenge your taste buds, why not join a food tour in the early evening?

 

Whatever you choose to do, there will be plenty of free time for you to discover the streets of Reykjavík on your own. You can take a stroll in the Laugavegur and Skólavörðustígur shopping streets, explore the quirky boutiques, or take it easy by enjoying the local café and restaurant scene.

Your Icelandic road trip officially begins as you head towards the Golden Circle, one of the country's most scenic routes! Explore Þingvellir National Park – a UNESCO Heritage site and one of the very few places in the world where the Mid Atlantic ridge is visible from above ground!

 

Then, you will discover Strokkur, the only active geyser in Europe, and admire the roaring sounds of the double-cascaded Gullfoss waterfall nearby. We’ll be sure to keep your taste buds fully satisfied by stopping at some local favorite spots along our way, including the famous tomato farm of Friðheimar. After an exciting day, enjoy the calming waters of the geothermal Secret Lagoon, Iceland's oldest swimming pool.

Today, you’ll make your way towards Iceland’s South Coast dotted with natural gems from sea to summit and all in between! The coastal road leads you to the splendors of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss; two of Iceland’s most popular waterfalls, often used as film and music video backdrops. If you are feeling adventurous and do not mind getting wet, you can even follow a short trail that will lead you directly behind Seljalandsfoss!

 

Admire the abundance of birdlife and endless ocean views from Dyrhólaey Peninsula. If you are lucky enough and come at the right time, you can even spot a puffin or two! Discover the country’s diverse landscapes by taking a stroll at the famous Reynisfjara black beach, which is only a short drive away. You will then head towards the charming little coastal town of Vík, where you will have the evening off to explore or mingle in between your group before heading towards our nearby accommodation and calling it a night.

This morning, you continue your journey towards Höfn, stopping at some of Iceland’s most prized natural wonders. You’ll get a chance to experience Eldhraun´s captivating lava fields, created after a series of devastating volcanic eruptions. Take a walk to the lesser-known Fjadrárgljúfur​ canyon and enjoy the area’s bespoke tranquility whilst having a bird’s eye view of this fairytale-like hidden valley.

 

The next stop of your trip takes you to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, nestled serenely at the foot of Vatnajökull. Admire the glacial formations from up close by taking a boat tour or simply wander to the black Diamond Beach nearby, where broken-off ice structures peacefully drift away in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Your day ends in the fishing town of Höfn, where you will have a chance to relax and spend the night in a hotel nearby, but not before sampling the town's famous langoustine!

Marvel at the endless coastline and scenic fjords as you drive towards the country’s eastern territory. The first stop on your itinerary is Djúpivogur, where everything seems to move at a slower pace. No wonder why this little scenic town is part of Cittaslow – a recently established movement where the quality of life is improved by just… slowing down! Seyðisfjörður is next in line with its rich history, arts, and cultural emphasis bound to satisfy your interest. The road towards the town by the Fjardará river is considered one of Iceland’s most spectacular drives. Get your camera ready and enjoy the raw splendor that lies ahead.

 

You will then head towards the country’s only geothermal floating baths! Nestled on the bank of lake Urriðavatn, Vök Baths combine luxury and tranquility without altering the natural landscape. This is the perfect time to fully unwind and perhaps get a drink or two with your fellow travelers! You’ll then head towards your accommodation in Egilsstaðir, where you’ll be free to roam and explore the gateway of the East at your own pace!

Today, you continue your journey along Iceland’s ring road. The day starts with an exploration of one of Iceland's newest traveler favorites: Stuðlagil basalt canyon. You will head into the Jökuldalur glacial valley, and be able to enjoy an amazing view over the tall basalt columns, intertwine with turquoise-colored glacial waters. A short drive then takes you to the northern territories of the country, home to lake Mývatn and all its neighboring natural wonders.

 

Untamed landscapes follow your every move as you reach Námaskarð geothermal area, surrounded by bubbly mud pots and sulfuric smells. For lunch, you will make a stop at a local café, where you can enjoy soup and geothermally baked bread while watching into a cowshed! Your onward journey takes you to Dimmuborgir, where you will marvel at dramatic lava formations towering above whilst going deeper into the labyrinth of eternal volcanic creations. The day slowly comes to an end as you head towards your accommodation for the night.

Discover the glorious North! Today, you will travel towards Akuyreri, the biggest city in this region dotted with vibrant nightlife, shopping outlets, and distinctive local hotspots. On your way there, you will get a chance to come up close and personal with the mighty waters of Goðafoss and Dettifoss waterfall whilst marveling at uniquely shaped glacial canyons and Ásbyrgi - one of Iceland’s very few forested areas!

 

The charming fishing town of Húsavík is next in line with bespoke whale watching opportunities that are up for grabs to anyone wanting to try their luck and see them from up close in their natural habitat. Alternatively, you can spend free time in the pretty town of Húsavík, or add a visit to the GeoSea sea baths, where geothermal water and a breathtaking view of the fjord will enchant all your senses. End the evening in Akureyri.

Today, you continue exploring Iceland’s northern coastline, dotted with magnificent oceanic views and spectacular mountain scenery towering over nearby settlements. Explore the fishing town of Dalvík, walk across captivating black sandy beaches, and admire the rich birdlife around. The winding road will lead you to the country’s northernmost town of Siglufjörður, sitting only a mere 40 km away from the Arctic Circle!

 

The village has a rich history of herring fishing, and you should try it for lunch! Afterward, you will make your way towards the Hofsós pool, where you can experience the local bathing culture and enjoy the view over the Atlantic Ocean. As the day comes to an end, you’ll head to your accommodation in the North West, and spend the remainder of the evening as you please.

Dive deep into the wonders of Snæfellsnes Peninsula as scenic landscapes slowly unveil before your very own eyes: Crowned Iceland in Miniature, this region is truly an explorer’s playground, with countless natural treasures scattered not far away from each other. You can take a stroll on one of Iceland’s most scenic black beaches and visit the quiet fisherman’s town of Stykkishólmur, overlooking Breiðafjörður bay in the distance.

 

Marvel at Arnarstapi, one of Iceland’s most beautiful harbors, and if you are lucky enough, you can even spot a seal suntanning on its shoreline! You will also stop at Kirkjufell – one of the country's most photographed mountains that you’ll certainly recognize if you’re a Game of Thrones fan. Finally, enjoy the sights of Snæfellsjökull glacier towering above the peninsula as you make your way to your accommodation for the night.

Start your day right with an unforgettable visit to Bjarnarhöfn Shark Museum, where you learn about fishing culture and local traditions. If this is not enough to spark your curiosity, a bite of pungent shark meat alongside a shot of Brennivín is guaranteed to do the trick. This is the ultimate wake-up call! Before heading back to Reykjavík, you will drive deeper inland and discover the picturesque area of Borgarfjörður. The powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver and the beautiful waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Barnafoss await you.

 

The night is still young as you arrive back to Reykjavík, where you will enjoy a farewell dinner. It will be an Icelandic tasting menu and surely meet your gourmet expectations!
