After a buffet breakfast, it is time to board the bus with your luggage, as you leave the city and head into the Icelandic countryside. Today, you will visit the Golden Circle, this route is the most popular day tour in Iceland, and for good reason. It consists of three very special locations, starting with the national park of Þingvellir, one of the most important sites in Iceland. After some time exploring and learning of its significant political and geological history, it is time for a delicious local lunch in a special greenhouse.

After lunch, you will then journey on to visit the world-famous site of Geysir, and its regularly erupting resident – Strokkur. The eruptions continue all day and night, and are around 5-8 minutes apart, so you are pretty much guaranteed to witness this.

Finally, it is just a short journey to Gullfoss, arguably the most famous waterfall in Iceland. This waterfall is very special, as thousands of gallons of water tumble down two platforms as it disappears into the canyon below.

Your accommodation will be a cozy, country hotel with private accommodation where you can kick back with your group, and we recommend booking dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 3

Highlights:

Seljalandsfoss & Skógafoss Waterfalls
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
Vík Village

Summary:

Accommodation: Reykjavík (e.g. Skuggi Hotel)

Optional Activities: Glacier Hiking

After breakfast at the hotel, another day of adventure awaits. The South Coast of Iceland is the second most popular route in Iceland. You will first visit the waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, both different, but equally stunning. At Seljalandsfoss, you can venture behind its cave and Skógafoss you will perhaps recognize, as it has featured in more than a few movies and TV shows.

Further south will take you past the volcano of Eyjafjallajökull, which famously erupted in 2010 and stopped air traffic around the world. Not far from here, you will see the glacier of Sólheimajökull in the distance. All along the South Coast are Iceland’s famous black, volcanic beaches, and you will visit Reynisfjara, a dramatic place where the power of the Atlantic Ocean meets moody and atmospheric basalt cliffs.

You will then head back to the city, for more exploring and a last chance to experience its famous nightlife.

Day 4

Highlights:

Capital Reykjavík

Summary:

Optional Activities: Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon, Whale Watching, Puffin Watching, FlyOver Iceland

Today it is time to head home, but depending on your return flight, you might be able to do some last-minute shopping, get one last walk around the city streets, or stop for some final photographs. You can also even choose this day to visit the Blue Lagoon, as it is so close to the airport. Either way, we are sure you will make the most of it and already be planning your next Iceland adventure.
