This 4-day winter group adventure includes some of the most incredible areas in the south of Iceland. You will stay in the capital city of Reykjavík, but also experience a winter evening in the countryside and will have the chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
The Iceland countryside is a magical place, especially in the winter months. As well as staying in a city hotel, you will also spend the night in a more rural setting, and this may even increase your chances of seeing the stunning Aurora. You get the best of both worlds!
We will handle everything, from hotel bookings to airport transfers. We will also ensure that your group will be in safe hands with our excellent and professional guide who will look after the group and give lots of useful advice. He can also give you tips when it comes to photographing those Northern Lights, which you can often see simply by taking a few steps outside your hotel!

Þingvellir National Park
Geysir & Strokkur
Gullfoss Waterfall
Driving Distance: Approx.
Optional Activities: Laugarvatn Fontana
After breakfast, it is time to head straight for the Icelandic countryside. Iceland is magical, all year round. However, during the winter months, it can be particularly special. Today, you will visit the Golden Circle, Iceland’s most popular day tour, to three of its most popular locations. You will start by visiting Þingvellir, one of Iceland’s two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This place has a special significance, as you will learn. After your visit, a warming and tasty local lunch will be provided in a local greenhouse.
Next, it is time to warm things up even further! Geysir, is the hottest spot on the Golden Circle. Strokkur, the most active geyser in Europe, erupts every 5-8 minutes on average, shooting boiling, sulfur-rich water high into the air. It is quite a sight to behold, and quite a smell!
Finally, you will visit Gullfoss. Arguably the most famous waterfall in Iceland, and certainly one of its most powerful. In the winter, it is partially frozen, and the ice walls add that winter magic.
Your accommodation will be in a warm and cozy country hotel. Here you can relax with your group and in the evening you might even get to see those magical Northern Lights. In the countryside, sometimes all you need to do is to stand outside and gaze up into the skies. The hotel also offers a Northern Lights wake-up call, should they make an appearance whilst you are asleep. Best wake-up call ever!
Double/Twin room with private bathroom, breakfast included.
Seljalandsfoss & Skógafoss Waterfalls
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
Vík Village
Driving Distance: Approx.
Optional Activities: Glacier Hiking
Today’s journey will take you south, along the coast, and the second most popular route in Iceland. Here you will find two very special waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss, where you can venture into the cave behind the waterfall, and perhaps the more recognizable Skógafoss, which has been featured in many movies and TV shows. Both waterfalls are especially pretty in the winter months, as they can often be partially frozen.
To the left, in the distance, you will see the famous volcano of Eyjafjallajökull that disrupted global air traffic when it erupted in 2010, as well as the glacier of Sólheimajökull. To the right, you will see the famous black sand beaches of the South Coast. Stretching for miles, these volcanic sands are an iconic part of Iceland’s landscape, especially when you get to your final destination, the beach of Reynisfjara.
Finally, it is time to head back to the city of Reykjavík for one last chance to enjoy the special winter vibe in the city and grab a nice hot chocolate.
