You’ll then make your way to Strokkur – Europe’s only active geyser, and get a chance to admire from up-close its undoubtedly natural power as it shoots water and steams high into the air. A stone's throw away from Strokkur lies the almighty Gullfoss waterfall, with roaring waters and scenic views.
If the adventurer in you is calling, why not join a snowmobiling or horseback riding tour as well! After a long day of exploring, you’ll then head back to Reykjavík, where you’ll have the evening off to do as you please.

A short drive along the South Coast leads you to another natural gem – the eminent Skógafoss waterfall, nestled in a charming gorge. Water drops from a height of 60 meters, creating a truly mesmerizing landscape.
During summer, you’ll finish the day by taking a scenic glacier hike on Skaftafellsjökull, one of the many glacier tongues stretching from Europe’s biggest glacier Vatnajökull.
In winter, instead of the glacier hike, you’ll visit the compelling Blue Ice Cave in Vatnajökull and get a chance to try your luck and hunt for the Northern Lights!
The accommodation is arranged by the tour provider of the 2-Day South Coast Tour.

Accommodation: Reykjavík
You start your adventure by heading towards the magical Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon whose waters are fed by, once again, Vatnajökull. Jökulsárlón’s landscape is ever-changing, which makes it even more exciting, as you never see the same glacier formations in the lagoon twice.
A short distance away from the glacier is the black-sanded Diamond Beach, with pieces of glacier particles beautifully scattered all over its shoreline. From there, you’ll also be able to admire chunks of icebergs of different shapes and sizes quietly floating from the lagoon to the depths of the Atlantic Ocean.
On your way back to Reykjavík, you’ll stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach and get a chance to see colossal waves dramatically crashing into basalt pillars found on its shoreline.
