Frequently Asked Questions

Our Small Group Tours are targeted to the curious and social travellers, who want to enjoy the comfort of a fully guided tour and meet like-minded companions. Despite it being a group tour, you still have plenty of opportunities to design your own experience by adding activities. Check out the FAQ below for the most common questions!

Included in all our small group guided tours is accommodation, breakfast, all transfers, and an expert guide. Apart from that, everything that is listed in the “Included” section of the tour, as it might differ. Tips are not part of Icelandic culture.

There is a get-together event planned for the first night of your tour. If your flight lands at any time before 18:00, it should be no problem to join. However, if your flight arrives late in the evening, there is no need to worry: You will stay in the same hotel and join the group the next morning. There will be plenty of opportunities to get to know your fellow travellers during the upcoming adventure!

The maximum group size is 17. The small group tour size gives us the opportunity to provide a much more personal and immersive experience. When it comes to age, we do not want to draw a strict line – but we do emphasize that Nordical focuses on adventurous, active and curious travellers. The group tours are designed for individuals that enjoy meeting new people and spend time together in the evenings. This is of course not mandatory but should give you a feel for the crowd.
You will discover Iceland in a comfortable minibus/van. There is enough space for you and your luggage (1 suitcase and hand luggage per person).
Of course! If your flight arrives/departs before or after the scheduled small group tour dates, then we are more than happy to arrange for additional nights and also book your airport transfers accordingly.
Our small group tours in Iceland are guided in English, unless otherwise stated. Do not worry if your English is not perfect – our guides are very used to guide international tourists and your fellow travellers will enjoy the cultural exchange. Iceland is more about the experience than the information, really!
If one of your chosen extra activities gets cancelled by the operator, mostly due to weather conditions, you will receive a partial refund. In some cases, your guide might suggest an alternative tour option.

This is possible, but we advise you to book extra activities as soon as you can. If you did not book a tour that your fellow travelers are going for and feel like you are missing out, we will do our very best to get you on the tour. However, we cannot guarantee that it will be possible.

Each tour includes breakfast and some dinners. Which and how many meals are included is unique to the itinerary. Please refer to the included section of your desired tour to find out more. If lunch or dinner is not included on certain days, your guide will give you plenty of suggestions for typical Icelandic choices or comfort food.

You will get free time to explore at each location, but you are expected to meet with the group at a given time. You also have the chance to stay with the group and enjoy expert guidance.
